The cap on the top of this cartridge must be removed. This can be
accomplished very easily with pocket knife. Hold the cartridge with the label
facing you. Insert the blade of the knife where the cap meets the cartridge
and twist. The cap should pop off very easily. Be careful not to break
the finger on the back of the cartridge. This finger holds the cartridge
into the print head. Throw the plastic cap out, it is not necessary
to put it back on the cartridge.
IDENTIFYING THE VENT HOLE
Once the cap is off hold the cartridge so that it looks like the picture
above. The small hole in the center of the cartridge is the fill hole.
In order to inject the ink you must first drill out the fill hole. To
enlarge the fill hole use the hand drill provided. Drill until you stop feeling
resistance. You are now ready to inject the ink.
INJECTING THE INK
Using the syringe draw 5cc of ink. Insert the needle into the vent hole as
far as it will go. Slowly inject the ink pulling the needle upwards
as fill. Pause every once in a while so that the sponge absorbs the
ink.
Watch the bottom of the cartridge for ink to drip from the sponge. Once ink starts to drip from the sponge draw back on the syringe plunger this will stop the ink from dripping. Once you see the ink coming out of the bottom of the cartridge, the cartridge is full. You may use immediately after you have finished refilling.
Rinse the needle off in warm water and store it in a safe place for your next refill.
