CANON BJC-201

There are now two types of these cartridges on the market. The original cartridge (Figure 1) and the new style cartridge (Figure 2). Modifying the Cartridge:

STEP 1

1. It is recommended that you refill your cartridge over the sink for easy clean up of any over spill.
2. Remove the label from your cartridge.
3. Locate the round indentation(s) on the top of the cartridge. (as shown in diagrams)
4. Using the hand held drill, drill a hole through the center of the indentation if your cartridge looks like the one in FIGURE 1.

-OR-
Push plastic ball into the cartridge if you have the new cartridges. FIGURE 2.

Using the hand drill provided push the plastic ball into the cartridge.  This will not effect the cartridges performance.  Place a small piece of the aluminum tape provided over the ink exit hole.  Hold the cartridge at a 45 degree angle with the ink exit hole pointed up so the ink will not leak from the hole.

5. You are now ready to inject the ink.

Refilling the cartridge

1.  Using the syringe, draw out approximately 7ml of the desired ink.  Approximately 12ml of ink for the High Capacity Black cartridge.
2.  Insert needle into the hole you just made and inject the ink.
3.  DO NOT fill the cartridge right to the top leave a little space.
4.  After refilling the cartridge put the small set screw provided into the hole where the ball was.  Cut a small piece of the aluminum tape provided to cover the screw and rub it down with your fingernail.  Again, try to make the seal airtight.

IMPORTANT:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TAPE SEALS THE HOLE SO THAT IT IS AIRTIGHT, OR ELSE THE INK WILL LEAK INTO YOUR PRINTER. INKS UNLIMITED"WILL NOT" ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF THIS HAPPENS.

5. Rinse out the needle in warm water and store for later use.
